Ms. Tasmia Prodhan, our Head of Chambers, is a business and litigation lawyer having an extensive background in business matters, corporate and commercial litigation, employment issues, oil, gas and energy-related issues, tortuous matters such as medical negligence, consumers’ rights, vicarious liability, employers’ liability and commercial real estate and leasing matters. Ms. Prodhan combines her knowledge of the court system with sound practical experience gained as a corporate lawyer for eight years of practicing law. Ms. Tasmia Prodhan has worked as a counsel for a wide- range of clients including renowned local and foreign group of companies and high net- worth and political personalities. To name a few is Akij Group, Summit, Shamjin Group (South Korea), Delta Life Insurance Co. Ltd., Gazi Group and the likes. During her career, Ms. Prodhan has represented businesses of all sizes from a variety of industries in various corporate matters including acquisition agreements, bank lending issues, contractual drafting, negotiation and disputes, construction litigation, franchise review and franchise enforcement, and employment/labor matters. On litigation part, Ms. Prodhan has a thriving practice at Supreme Court of Bangladesh in criminal, writ and civil matters and regarded as one of the most talented female Barristers practicing at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She has also successfully undertaken multifarious arbitration, mediation and negotiation for her business clients. Furthermore, she has effectively defended her clients from numerous anti-corruption, VAT and income tax, Securities and Exchange Commission matters.
Ms. Prodhan studied Diploma-at- Law and LLB (Hons.) at University of London and afterwards completed her Bar-Vocational Course from City University London and was thereafter called to the Bar from The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. While in the UK, Ms. Prodhan completed a number of mini-pupillages at reputed sets of chambers in London. Prior to founding Tasmia Prodhan & Associates, Ms. Prodhan worked at eminent law firms such as Dr. Kazi Akhtar Hamid & Associates under the tutelage of Dr. Kazi Akhtar Hamid and afterwards at Moudud Ahmed & Associates under Barrister Moudud Ahmed. Ms. Prodhan has appeared in several television shows discussing laws of Bangladesh and advising on specific legal issues.

Mr. Shahedul Azam has a flourishing practice of 5 years focused on company, corporate, business and commercial matters as well as in banking and finance, land and real-estate, labour and employment, IT and IP and criminal including white-collar crime and writ matters. On the litigation side, Mr. Azam is an active trial lawyer and commercial litigator with experience in Supreme Court and the subordinate courts both in Dhaka as well as in alternative dispute resolution for his distinguished clients. At the same time, Mr. Azam has developed a sophisticated transactional licensing, contracting and counseling practice and has experience in drafting contracts helping buyers and sellers complete real estate transactions, and representing investors and entrepreneurs in setting up as well as conducting business which includes mergers and acquisitions as well.
Mr. Azam completed his LLB (Hons.) from University of London and was thereafter called to the Bar from The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn after successful completion of his Bar Professional Training Course from City University London. Prior to joining Tasmia Prodhan and Associates, he was associated with prominent law firms in Bangladesh such as Moudud Ahmed & Associates, Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed & Associates, The Legal Sanctuary and Quader Chambers.

Mr. Mohammad Golam Kibria

Mr. Kibria has been practicing litigation for around 6 years and his area of specialization includes banking (artharin, negotiatiable instrument and fraud cases), other criminal and civil matters as well as corporate matters. He has represented clients in courts of 14 different districts of Bangladesh. Furthermore, he is an experienced lawyer in company secretarial matter including procedural laws.

Ms. Khandaker Asma Hamid Tashfia

Ms. Khandaker Asma Hamid Tashfia has been carrying out her legal practice under Barrister Tasmia Prodhan and her practice is generally corporate and commercial law as well as civil matters. She has considerable skills in negotiation and mediation for the corporate clients.

Mr. Md. Mahbubul Haque

Mr. Md. Mahbubul Haque has been in legal practice for around 4 years under Barrister Tasmia Prodhan and his practices is primarily focused on land, civil and criminal law related issues including all sorts of banking documentation and has adequate proficiency in corporate and civil matters. In addition, he has considerable experience as paralegal.
